Siemens Headquarters Addition

This new addition to the Siemens campus in Milan, designed by Park Associati, features an overall massing with multiple horizontal opaque bands and transparent infill glazing between them. This design recalls and complements the massing of the adjacent buildings, while adding a play of contrasting textures and subtle finishes.

The façade systems include custom brake formed aluminum cladding, expanded metal mesh cladding, window wall and curtain wall glazing systems, and integrated facade lighting. The brake formed aluminum cladding has a custom shaped plisse zig-zag form, which varies in scale and dimension across several panel types on the project.

BUROMILAN FAÇADE collaborated with Park Associati to develop the façade systems during Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents phases. This work also included a façade access and maintenance strategy as well as a market test pricing study to validate and better inform internal cost estimates of the façade scope. The project is currently ongoing.
